In a significant development, famous internet personalities, Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, have been charged with multiple crimes including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking on May 28.
The Tate brothers, often known for making misogynistic comments and narratives, have faced legal troubles for a while in different countries.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed on Wednesday that the charges were filed following an investigation by Bedfordshire Police.
The UK prosecutors have filed these charges after the UK authorities issued warrants against the Tate brothers to bring them back to the UK from Romania, where they are currently residing.
It merits a mention that both brothers faced serious charges in Romania, including trafficking of minors, sexual intercourse with a minor and money laundering.
Both are UK-US nationals who have amassed a cult following by adopting and spreading the hyper-masculine or toxic masculine culture.
Andrew Tate was banned from Twitter in 2017 but was later reinstated after right-wing billionaire Elon Musk acquired the platform.
Both brothers also recently visited the United States after media reports suggested that the US officials pressured Romanian authorities to allow the Tate brothers to travel.
Both US and Romanian officials denied the development; however, Andrew and Tristan were allowed to travel to the US.
