In a recent interview with journalist Irtiza Butt, senior Pakistani anchor Jasmeen Manzoor made shocking revelation. She shared that her ex husband brutally assaulted her even while she was in the sacred state of Ihram.
The abuse didn’t stop there she was also threatened with the leak of her private, explicit photos. With deep disappointment, she said that despite working alongside colleagues for 28 years, not a single one of them spoke up for her.
Jasmeen questioned the moral decay of society, asking whether a woman’s honor has become so cheap that the very man who is supposed to protect her her husband publicly shatters her dignity. “This society is on the brink of collapse,” she added, “and when that happens, should we still question why disasters like earthquakes and floods strike us?”
Jasmeen Manzoor also took to social media to thank everyone who stood by her during this difficult time. In a tweet, she thanked Pakistani anchors, news channels, YouTubers, bloggers, and members of the international media who reached out with support.
She also acknowledged the consulates and the people of Pakistan for their overwhelming solidarity, saying she could never have imagined such immense encouragement. “Remember me in your prayers,” she wrote, as she continues her fight for justice.
