All trains to Balochistan suspended after Jaffar Express attack

All trains from Punjab, Sindh to Balochistan have been suspended after terrorists attacked the Jaffar Express and took around 450 people hostage in Balochistan.

According to Pakistan Railways (PR), passenger and freight trains will remain suspended until the area has been cleared and the law and order situation in Balochistan is stabilised.

PR cancelled two trains, the Shah Hussain Express and Pak Business Train, due to low reservations. Passengers who had confirmed reservations for these trains were accommodated in the Karakoram and Karachi express trains.

155 hostages rescued, 27 terrorists killed

According to reports, an operation to rescue the people is underway. As of now, almost 155 people have been rescued but the exact number of casualties is not yet known.

According to security sources, suicide bombers are among the terrorists and are using innocent people as human shields.

Currently, security forces are being extra cautious as women and children are present with the suicide bombers.

Suicide bombers have held women and children hostage at three different locations.

Jaffar Express attack details

The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Jaffar Express, which departed from Quetta for Peshawar, was attacked between the Paneer and Peshi railway stations.

The incident took place almost around 1pm PKT on Tuesday.

Reports suggest that over 200 security personnel were also travelling on the same train.
