Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal is considering relocating his sit-in from Quetta to Kalat in the coming days.

The sit-in includes between 1,000 to 1,500 people.

The party is protesting over the arrest of Dr Marang Baloch but the authorities have reaffirmed their stance that Baloch will not be released under any circumstances.

According to senior-most sources who spoke exclusively to Azaad Digital, Marang Baloch had arrived in Balochistan to retrieve the bodies of militants killed in a recent operation carried out by SSG commandos aboard Jaffar Express. Pakistan has made it clear it will not hand over the bodies of terrorists to any group or faction, no matter the cost.

Earlier, the Balochistan government issued a warning that if Mengal’s party march against the jailing of Baloch activists and enter Quetta, the former lawmaker will be arrested.

It was also reported that over 200 smuggled vehicles were present in Akhtar Mengal’s convoy and if they enter Quetta, they would be seized.

On March 28, BNP-M started a long march to protest against the arrests of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders and activists, including Mahrang and Sammi Deen Baloch (she was released on Tuesday).
