WEBDESK: An Ahmedabad plane crash occurred on Thursday evening when an Air India flight, scheduled to fly from Ahmedabad to London, faced a serious incident during takeoff. The incident happened at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and immediately triggered an emergency response.
According to initial reports, the crash took place on the tarmac while the aircraft was preparing for departure. Emergency procedures were activated quickly to manage the situation.
The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services Department sent over five fire-fighting vehicles to the scene. The fire department acted promptly and carried out fire control measures to prevent any further risk.
“A team of over five fire vehicles from various city divisions has reached the location. Fire control measures are being carried out as a precaution,” said a senior fire department official.
A total of 242 passengers were onboard at the time of the crash.
A spokesperson for India’s Ahmedabad airport has told the news wires that the airport is not currently operational and all flight operations have been temporarily suspended.

The Boeing 787-8 aircraft was carrying a total of 242 passengers and crew members. Among them were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian national, and seven Portuguese nationals. Authorities have confirmed that there were no survivors in the devastating incident, as rescue teams continue their operations at the crash site.
