QUETTA: Senior leader of the Baloch Unity Committee, Mahrang Baloch, was arrested during a protest on Saryab Road in Quetta She was leading the protest demanding the release of activists and opposing the sight of bodies at the Civil Hospital, where many families had gathered.
The protest on Saryab Road escalated with clashes between police and demonstrators, leading to the use of tear gas and water cannons. The Baloch Unity Committee claimed that three protesters were killed, and seven others were injured due to alleged police firing.
According to police sources, around 41 protesters were arrested this morning, including Mahrang Baloch. Law enforcement agencies are on high alert, with strict orders to arrest anyone participating in protests. Internet services in the city remain suspended for now. Senior police officials have stated that the situation is being closely monitored.
