In a significant development, the Chief Minister Punjab Internship programme is set to expand with monthly stipend increased from Rs25,000 to Rs60,000.
Provincial Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar while addressing at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) on Thursday revealed the upcoming expansion of CM Punjab Internship programme.
Under this expansion of CM Punjab Internship programme, the number of internees would also be increased from 6,000 to 10,000 while their internship duration would be increase to one year from six months.
The provincial minister remarked that 70 to 80 jobs would be created under the next phase of CM Punjab Internship programme. He also revealed that these jobs would offer salary packages around Rs100,000.
The minister stated: “More than 65 % of the population of Punjab is comprised of the younger generation and this bulk of youth can play a key role for the development of the country.”
Khokar further narrated that providing opportunities to the youth of Punjab was in line with CM Maryam Nawaz’s vision for the province.
Eligibility Criteria of CM Punjab Internship Programme
- Applicants must be recent graduates. Their degree/diploma should not be older than two years at the time of application submission.
- Candidates must have a domicile of Punjab.
- Applicants must be in the age between 18 to 25.
It is worth mentioning that the first phase of CM Punjab Internship programme featured 6000 internships which paid Rs25,000 to each internee and the duration of the employment was only six months.
