WEBDESK (Azaad English): Aimal Wali Khan serving as the central president for Awami National Party ANP, does not agree with Ruet-e-Hilal Committee decisions about the Ramadan moon sighting. He issued orders to the ANP workforce to start fasting on March 1.
Aimal Wali said that the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s decisions have always been controversial, and there are reservations about it this time as well.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced March 2 as the start of Ramadan although the moon was not present for observation.
Maulana Abdul Khabeer the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee told the media during a conference that evidence showed no one managed to spot the Ramadan crescent throughout all areas of Pakistan.
The first day of fasting for the month of Ramadan throughout Pakistan including its major urban areas including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta will start on March 2.
This is not the first time different groups in Pakistan have observed Ramadan on separate days due to disagreements over moon sightings.
