According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces’ vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) by terrorists in Mastung district.
The blast resulted in the martyrdom of Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, Naik Ibn Ameen, and Lance Naik Muhammad Younis.
Security forces responded promptly and neutralised four terrorists involved in the attack.
A terrorist attack claimed the lives of three soldiers after a security forces’ vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mastung during the night between August 5 and 6, 2025, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
The incident occurred while troops were on routine movement in the area. The soldiers who embraced shahadat include Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, aged 31, from Narowal; Naik Ibni Amin, aged 37, from Swabi; and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas, aged 33, from Karak.
According to ISPR, Major Rizwan was known for leading numerous counter-terrorism operations and always chose to fight from the front.
In response, security forces launched an immediate sanitisation operation in the area. Four “Fitna al Hindustan” militants responsible for the attack were traced and eliminated. ISPR confirmed that all four were “sent to hell,” with search efforts ongoing to locate any remaining accomplices.
Troops are maintaining a presence on the ground to clear out any remaining hideouts and to prevent further attacks.
Authorities have made it clear that the operation will continue until every last link in the network is dismantled.
ISPR linked the incident to Indian-sponsored terrorism, stating that such acts of violence only serve to strengthen the country’s resolve to eliminate the threat entirely. The sacrifice of the martyred soldiers, it said, would not be in vain.
Military funerals with full honours will be held for the fallen soldiers. The public has been urged to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activity, and support ongoing operations aimed at ensuring the safety of Balochistan’s routes and communities.
The security forces reaffirmed their commitment to hunt down every individual connected to the Mastung attack and bring them to justice, piece by piece.
