Webdesk: Hot and very humid conditions are expected to continue across most parts of the country, as per the latest Pakistan weather update.
However, light rain along with wind or thunderstorms may occur in some areas, particularly in the Potohar region, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby hilly regions.
As per the latest weather system, a seasonal low is currently situated over northern Balochistan.
At the same time, weak monsoon currents are making their way into the upper and central parts of Pakistan, while a westerly wave is also present in the northern areas.
Pakistan weather update: regional forecast
Islamabad
On Sunday, the weather in Islamabad and its surrounding areas will remain hot and humid. Still, there’s a chance of partly cloudy skies and rain with wind or thunderstorms at night. The probability stands at around 45 per cent.
Kashmir
Sunday will likely bring partly cloudy weather to Kashmir, with chances of scattered rainfall and thunder or windstorms in some areas.
Gilgit-Baltistan
In Gilgit-Baltistan, Sunday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy with the possibility of isolated rain and thunderstorms.
Punjab
Hot and humid conditions will dominate most parts of Punjab. However, light showers and thunderstorms may develop in areas such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore and nearby localities.
Sindh
The province will experience mainly hot and sticky weather, though coastal areas may see some patchy cloud cover.
Balochistan
Most of Balochistan will remain under hot and humid weather. Nonetheless, some places like Zhob, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Musa Khel and nearby areas could see brief rain or thunderstorms.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and humid conditions will be the norm. However, areas including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kurram, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat, and Waziristan may receive rain and thunderstorms during the afternoon.
Over the past 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms were reported at scattered places in Upper and Central Punjab, parts of Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Zhob. Elsewhere, the weather stayed largely hot and humid.

Punjab: Islamabad saw the heaviest rain, Golra received 87mm, Saidpur 44mm, City 40mm, Bokra 36mm, and Airport 4mm.
In Rawalpindi, Pirwadhai recorded 41mm, Kattarian 34mm, Shamsabad 30mm, Gawalmandi 29mm, and Katcheri 20mm. Murree got 11mm, Chakwal 6mm, Sahiwal 5mm, Narowal 4mm, Bahawalnagar 3mm, and Okara and Attock received 1mm each.
Kashmir: Muzaffarabad saw 38mm at the airport and 35mm in the city. Garhi Dupatta got 2mm, and Rawalakot got 1mm.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul had 37mm, Malam Jabba 14mm, Upper Dir 9mm, Lower Dir 6mm, Saidu Sharif 5mm, and Balakot 2mm.
Balochistan: Zhob received 7mm.
Gilgit-Baltistan: Gilgit recorded 1mm.
