WEBDESK: A social media account linked to India’s intelligence agency RAW has spread misleading claims about a recent oil deal between Pakistan and a US company, according to Azaad Fact Check.
The account, known as “Baba Koda” on platform X, falsely claimed that the oil agreement was made under pressure from former US President Donald Trump.
It suggested that Pakistan agreed to the deal to avoid a 29 per cent tariff from the US. The post also tried to paint the agreement as part of a political conspiracy.
However, Azaad Fact Check has now confirmed that these claims are completely false.

According to Azaad Fact Check, the agreement is a private business deal between Synergetico, a non-government Pakistani refinery, and Vitol, a US-based energy company.
The deal is not linked to any official government policy. It is a temporary commercial agreement, aimed only at testing the profitability of processing American crude oil in Pakistan.
Experts say the refinery is independent, makes its own business decisions, and is not controlled by the government.
This is not the first time the “Baba Koda” account has made false and provocative claims.
In the past, it falsely alleged that Pakistani forces entered Indian-held Kashmir, destroyed three army bases, and captured land 40 km inside Indian territory. These statements were never confirmed by any reliable source.
After being exposed again, the account responded by attacking Azaad Fact Check, claiming it was a “military-run handle”. It continued to twist facts instead of admitting the error.
