RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said Sanskrit should become a medium of daily communication and reach every Indian household. Speaking at the inauguration of a new building at Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University in Nagpur, Bhagwat described Sanskrit as the “mother of all Indian languages.”
He said Sanskrit is a language that “develops our emotions (bhav)” and added that everyone should know it. “We need to learn to speak this language in our daily communication. It should become the language of daily communication.
I have learnt the language, but am not able to speak it fluently. Sanskrit needs to reach every household, and communication in the language is needed,” the RSS chief said.
Bhagwat stated that while the university will receive government patronage, public support is also essential. He said that Sanskrit must be used by people in daily life to grow further.
He said there is unanimity on becoming ‘atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) and displaying ‘swabal’ (self-strength), and for that, “we need to develop our intellect and knowledge.”
Bhagwat added that “swatwa” is not materialistic but represents individuality, which is conveyed through language. He said knowing Sanskrit is like understanding the country.
Bhagwat also said that while the West talks about the “global market,” India believes in “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).”
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also praised Sanskrit and pledged government support for its development.
Mohan Bhagwat wants Sanskrit used in daily life. This is not just a language suggestion. It is an ideological move by the RSS. The goal is cultural control, not preservation.
The RSS has long wanted a single Hindu identity. It sees India’s diversity as a threat. Forcing Sanskrit supports upper-caste power. It harms regional languages and minority voices.
Bhagwat called Sanskrit the “mother of all Indian languages.” This is not true. It ignores Dravidian and other linguistic roots. Many traditions existed before or outside Sanskrit.
The RSS wants to rewrite history. It wants to remove diversity. Language is used as a tool in this project. The aim is to push a narrow Hindutva vision.
This is not about unity. It is about forcing one ideology. The spiritual image of Sanskrit hides a political goal.
Bhagwat does not want empowerment. He wants control. Sanskrit is used to shape a “Hindu Rashtra.” This idea denies India’s real cultural mix.
Language should bring people together. Here, it is being used to divide. This is not cultural pride. It is cultural dominance.
