WEBDESK: A grand ceremony was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi to mark the 98th anniversary of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong was the chief guest. Senior Chinese diplomats and high-ranking officers of the Pakistan Army attended the event. Major General Wang Zhong also took part in the celebration.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir warmly welcomed the Chinese guests. He congratulated the PLA on its 98th founding anniversary and praised its role in defence, national security, and development.
He said that Pakistan and China’s friendship has stood the test of time. He described the bond as one built on trust, strong support, and shared commitment.
He further stated that the armed forces of both countries are like true brothers. Their military cooperation plays an important role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked Field Marshal Asim Munir for hosting the event. He also appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism.
He said China is keen to further strengthen its strategic partnership with Pakistan.
The event highlighted the deep and lasting ties between the two nations, especially in the military sphere.
