The last mission for Hawkins’ gang in Stranger Things Season 5 will be to defeat Vecna for good. The Duffer Brothers confirmed that there will be a time jump and that the majority of the action will take place in Hawkins and the Upside Down.
This season will focus on the Upside Down’s mythology, and many of the questions we’ve had since Season 1 will finally be answered. The creators promise that Season 1 nostalgia will be present. However, it will be darker.

Vecna’s Fate Remains Uncertain
Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna (also known as Henry or One), has suggested that the antagonist will return in Stranger Things Season 5. He said in an interview with EW that Vecna appeared “defeated” but then abruptly disappeared.
Vecna has not formally announced that he has committed to a second season. However, trailers indicate that he is not missing. During the Season 4 finale, Will informs Mike he can still sense Vecna’s presence, hinting that the danger still exists. Bower also hinted that there are deeper connections between Vecna and Will.
