Pakistan’s role in regional peace was praised by the Chinese leadership in Beijing on Friday during meetings with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Chinese leaders called the Pakistan Army a “cornerstone of resilience” and a vital contributor to peace in South Asia.
COAS Munir met Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The ISPR said both sides discussed the regional and global outlook, CPEC connectivity, and the need for coordinated responses to common challenges.
They expressed satisfaction with the depth of engagement and affirmed a shared commitment to sovereign equality, multilateral cooperation, and long term stability.
Pakistan’s role in regional peace: defence ties, CPEC, and joint training
The Chinese military leadership showed full confidence in the strength of the bilateral defence partnership.
They acknowledged Pakistan’s pivotal part in promoting regional peace.
The talks covered counterterrorism cooperation, joint training, defence modernisation, and stronger institutional linkages.
Both sides agreed to improve operational interoperability and strategic coordination to counter hybrid and transnational threats.
The ISPR said the military engagement featured comprehensive exchanges on security cooperation and practical steps to deepen coordination.
Upon arrival at the People’s Liberation Army Headquarters, COAS Munir received a guard of honour.
The ceremony reflected the long friendship between the two armed forces and signalled the value both sides place on defence ties.
Pakistan and China share a long standing strategic partnership built on trust, economic cooperation, and regional connectivity.
Over the years, cooperation has expanded across trade, energy, infrastructure, and defence. CPEC stands as a key symbol of this shared development vision.
COAS Munir appreciated China’s consistent support. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to broaden military to military cooperation in all domains.
The ISPR said the visit reflects the growing depth of politico‑military ties and the shared resolve to advance regional security through sustained high level dialogue.
With security coordination, CPEC projects, and steady diplomatic engagement, both sides framed the visit as a step toward peace, stability, and growth.
The message from Beijing was clear: Pakistan’s role in regional peace remains central to joint efforts for a secure and connected region.
