The meeting lasted 40 minutes and was held at the US State Department. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, also attended.
Both sides talked about various important matters, including trade, investment, regional security, and counterterrorism.
Dar thanked President Donald Trump for his efforts to reduce Pakistan-India tensions. He said Pakistan wants stable and deeper ties with the US.
In March, the US State Department said Pakistan’s help in counterterrorism remains important. This came after Pakistan arrested ISIS-K member Sharifullah and extradited him to the US. He is now on trial for the 2021 Kabul airport suicide bombing.

President Trump met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the White House last month. They discussed trade, economic development, energy, AI, cryptocurrency, and other technologies.
After the meeting, Pakistan nominated Trump for the Nobel Prize. The government praised his role in stopping a recent armed conflict with India.
Trump told reporters that he had the “honour” of meeting Munir. He said he invited the army chief to thank him for ending the war.
Pakistan has continued to credit Trump for the ceasefire. India, however, denies that the US was involved. Despite this, Trump has offered to mediate the Kashmir dispute. The US State Department also mentioned his stance.
