Pakistan weather update: hot, humid conditions grip most regions; isolated rainfall forecast for north

Webdesk: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather across most parts of the country today, according to the latest Pakistan weather update.

However, some northern areas, including Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), northeastern Punjab, and Kashmir, may receive rain along with wind and thunder at isolated locations.

According to the PMD’s advisory, heavy rainfall in Dera Ghazi Khan could lead to flash flooding in local nullahs and streams. Urban flooding is also possible in low-lying areas of northeast and eastern Punjab during the evening or night.

The synoptic situation shows that a seasonal low lies over northeast Balochistan, with moist winds from the Arabian Sea moving into the upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also affecting the upper regions.
