Webdesk: Today, rain with wind and thunder is expected in Sindh, South Punjab, Kashmir, the northeast and southern parts of Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, according to the Pakistan weather update.
A few areas in southern Sindh, eastern Balochistan and Kashmir may receive heavy downpours during this spell.
The weather disturbance currently lies over Rajasthan, India, and is likely to shift southwestward, moving towards Sindh over the next 24 hours. In the northern parts of Pakistan, a westerly wave is also present and may influence the weather conditions there.
Earlier, most areas experienced hot and humid weather. However, parts of southeast Sindh and Khuzdar did receive rain with wind and thunder, along with a few heavy showers.

Sindh: Badin received 68 mm of rain. In Tharparkar, Nagarparkar recorded 12 mm, Dhali 7 mm, and Islamkot and Chachro 5 mm each. Mithi saw 4 mm, Chhor 2 mm, while Mirpur Khas and Tando Jam both recorded 1 mm.
Balochistan: Khuzdar received 11 mm.

Sindh:
Rain with wind and thunder (with some heavy falls at isolated spots) is likely in several areas, including Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Tharparkar, Badin, Sujawal, Umerkot, Chachro, Padaidan, Khairpur, Karachi, Thatta, Ghotki, Chhor, Sukkur, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Nowshera Feroze, Sanghar, Dadu, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Matiari and Shaheed Benazirabad.
Balochistan:
Mostly hot and humid conditions are expected, but rain with wind and thunder may occur in a few areas such as Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musakhel, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Lasbela and nearby places.
Punjab:
Partly cloudy and humid weather is expected across most districts. However, scattered rain with thunder is likely in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and D.G. Khan.
A few northern areas, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore and Sheikhupura may also receive brief showers.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
Most of the province will remain hot and humid. However, there may be partly cloudy skies with isolated rain and thunder in areas like Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kurram and Waziristan.
Gilgit-Baltistan:
Partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated rain and thunder are expected.
Kashmir:
Partly cloudy conditions with scattered rain and thunder are forecast. Some places might experience heavy rainfall during this period.
Islamabad:
The capital is likely to see partly cloudy and humid conditions. There is a 45 per cent chance of isolated rain and thunder in the afternoon.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department and local administrations have advised tourists, travellers, and the general public to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated with the latest weather reports.
All relevant departments have been directed to remain on high alert and take necessary precautionary steps in advance.
