WEBDESK: Kasim Khan, son of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has posted a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on his father’s long standing absence from family life and his ongoing imprisonment in Pakistan.
He said that their father had lived most of his life away from the family not out of necessity, but by choice to stand against what he called a “corrupt regime” in Pakistan.
In the post, Kasim acknowledged that while Imran Khan was not always present as a father, he devoted himself to Pakistan as a national leader.
“He gave his country everything: hospitals, universities, and a movement for justice,” he wrote.
The message appears to highlight the personal cost of Khan’s political journey, including time spent away from his family.
According to the post, Imran Khan had the option to leave political life and live peacefully with his family in England. Kasim mentioned that his father could have spent time “going on walks or playing cricket” with them.
Instead, the former cricketer turned politician has chosen to remain behind bars. Kasim said this decision shows his commitment to Pakistan, even when it means giving up personal comfort and freedom.
