Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori has announced that the funeral prayer of deceased actress Humaira Asghar will be held at the Governor House in Karachi.
The Pakistani entertainment industry has been left devastated by the tragic death of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali, whose decomposed body was discovered earlier this week in her Karachi apartment.
New details from police investigations suggest she may have died as far back as September 2024 with no one noticing.
The 35-year-old actress, known for her roles in Jalaibee, Laali, and reality show Tamasha Ghar, was found when police and a court bailiff broke into her flat in DHA Phase VI to carry out an eviction order. The flat was locked from inside, and no one had heard from her in months.
In a more disturbing twist to the incident, multiple media reports suggested that Humaira Asghar Ali’s family, based in Lahore, reportedly refused to claim her body.
Upon hearing this, several celebrities stepped forward, volunteering to handle her burial. The Actors Collective Trust (ACT) issued a statement promising that Humaira Asghar Ali would be “laid to rest with dignity and respect.”
Governor Tesori also took notice of the incident and in a video statement, he remarked, “ I am also the brother of Humaira Asghar Ali. If the family members do not want to participate in the funeral, I will be present and pay all the expenses from my own pocket.”
