WEBDESK: Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has declared that Pakistan’s nuclear programme is completely safe and in responsible hands.
He made these remarks in a special interview with international broadcaster Al Jazeera, where he openly spoke about India’s state-sponsored terrorism and threats to Pakistan’s security.
Speaking during the interview, the DGISPR said that India has adopted terrorism as a systematic state policy with the aim of destabilising Pakistan, especially the province of Balochistan. He said Pakistan is currently facing terrorist attacks from groups backed by India, referring to them as ‘Fitna-tul-Hindustan’, a term used for India-sponsored terrorist organisations.
The statement came in the backdrop of a deadly suicide attack in Waziristan last month, where 16 Pakistani soldiers were martyred and over 20 injured. The banned outfit ‘Fitna-tul-Khawarij’ claimed responsibility for the attack. General Chaudhry explained that the term ‘Khawarij’ refers to those militant groups who attack the state and security forces. He added that this group is a continuation of misguided elements that have, in the name of Islam, killed innocent Muslims throughout history.
The DG ISPR made it clear that, under Islamic principles, only the state has the authority to declare Jihad or armed conflict, and no individual or group can claim that right.
Highlighting India’s role, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that Indian-backed terrorist groups are actively spreading violence in Balochistan. He pointed out that India’s political leadership has, on several occasions, admitted supporting terrorist activities inside Pakistan. The mastermind behind these operations, he said, is India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
He further revealed that even countries like the United States, Canada, and others have acknowledged India’s state-sponsored terrorism, exposing New Delhi’s malicious role at the international level.
Commenting on Pakistan’s nuclear programme, the DG ISPR stressed that it remains completely secure, responsible, and invincible. “No country can dare target Pakistan’s nuclear assets,” he asserted. He also stated that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state, and its nuclear capability reflects the balance of power and defensive strength in the region.
During the interview, General Chaudhry also reaffirmed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Iran, which is currently facing Israeli aggression.
