India cannot impose its will on Pakistan, says Ishaq Dar

WEBDESK: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has once again warned the international community about India’s dangerous intentions, declaring that India will never be allowed to impose its will on Pakistan.

Speaking at a special event held at the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad on Monday, Dar stressed that Pakistan is committed to the principle of peaceful coexistence in the region. However, he accused India of trying to weaponise the Indus Waters Treaty against Pakistan, which he said would be considered an act of war.

He pointed out that India is openly violating international laws, and referred to a recent false flag operation in Pahalgam that he said was wrongly used to target Pakistan. He added that Pakistan gave a timely and strong response to this aggression.

Ishaq Dar said water is Pakistan’s lifeline, and any Indian attempt to use water as a weapon would be met with a firm response. He assured the world that Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its geographical integrity against any aggression.

He also stressed that lasting peace in the region is only possible when the Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and United Nations resolutions.

On the situation in the Middle East, Ishaq Dar welcomed the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and strongly supported Iran’s right to defend itself. He expressed serious concern over the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, calling on the international community to stop Israeli aggression. He added that Pakistan firmly supports a two-state solution and believes there can be no peace in the Middle East without justice for the Palestinian people.

Ishaq Dar also spoke on Pakistan’s foreign policy, stating that Pakistan wants peaceful relations with its neighbours and urged the Afghan government to ensure that its territory is not used against any other country. He said Pakistan’s strategic partnership with China continues to grow stronger.
