In a hateful tweet, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut launched an attack on Democratic mayoral nominee for New York, Zohran Mamdani, who is a Muslim and is known for his strong pro-Palestinian stance.
She said, “His mother is Mira Nair, one of our best filmmakers, Padmashri , a beloved and celebrated daughter born and raised in great Bharat based in Newyork, she married Mehmood Mamdani (Gujarati origin) a celebrated author, and obviously son is named Zohran, he sounds more Pakistani than Indian ….. whatever happened to his Hindu identity or bloodline and now he is ready to wipe out Hinduism, wow!!”

Kangana probably had a meltdown because Zohran Mamdani recently called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “war criminal” and compared him to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He also said Modi helped orchestrate the mass slaughter of Gujarati Muslims in 2002.
Social media users slammed Kangana over this — with a touch of humour.

Who is Zohran Mamdani?
The 33-year-old state assemblyman is set to be the Democratic candidate for New York City Mayor, making history as the first Muslim nominee.
Born in Kampala, Uganda, Mamdani moved to New York with his family at the age of seven.
He has also made his Muslim faith a visible part of his campaign. He visited mosques regularly and released a campaign video in Urdu about the city’s cost-of-living crisis.
His both parents were born in India. He is married to Brooklyn-based Syrian artist Rama Duwaji.
Mamdani’s strong support of Palestinians and staunch criticism of Israel goes further than most of the Democratic establishment.
He once said that Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested.
