Is geography banned in India? protestors wanted to boycott China, but ended up boycotting America

WEBDESK: Indian protestors rallying against China have unintentionally turned their demonstration into an online meme by featuring a map of the United States in place of China on their protest banner.

The protest, aimed at urging a nationwide boycott of Chinese goods, carried slogans like “Boycott China” (misspelled as “Boycott Chinaa” in some cases), but what caught social media’s attention was the glaring error in the map used. Instead of depicting China, the banner showed a map of the USA a mistake that quickly sparked ridicule online.

Social media users have since reacted with a wave of mockery and sarcasm. Some are questioning whether geography is still taught in Indian schools, while others jokingly declared the subject “banned” or “endangered” in the country.

The incident has prompted a flurry of memes and posts, with many highlighting the irony of protesting against a foreign nation without being able to correctly identify it on a map.

Memes Take Over: Indian protest banner fails geography in every language

The map mistake didn’t just get people talking, it quickly turned into meme material on social media. Users wasted no time turning the blunder into jokes, with many making fun of how protestors mixed up China with the USA. Memes and funny posts started flooding X, all pointing out the irony of protesting a country you can’t even find on the map.

This is not the first time recently Indian social media users never fail to entertain the world with their unorthodox takes and extreme political views; however, one Indian user has picked up a fight with AI chatbot, Grok, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) over grammar.

A Pakistani X user shared hilarious screenshots of now-deleted comments by an Indian user under her post.

The Indian user began with writing, “India standing with Israel u are ineducated.”
