WEBDESK: As Eid ul Adha 2025 approaches, local authorities across Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir have announced prayer timings to help people prepare for one of the most important Islamic festivals of the year.

The Eid ul Adha prayer timings for each region vary slightly depending on location and local arrangements. From major mosques in Karachi and Lahore to the Faisal Masjid in Islamabad and various mosques in Jammu & Kashmir, worshippers now have a clearer picture of when to gather for the Eid prayers.

Eid ul Adha prayer timings for Karachi

The government of Sindh has given details of when, where and which congregations in Karachi will take place. Depending on the location, the prayer times for the same day are from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Local authorities have taken steps to guarantee safety, cleanliness and control the crowds at important places of worship.

  • Masjid Mustafa, 2B East Street, Ph-I: 6:00AM (Moulana Omer M. Asghar, Mufti Saif Ullah)
  • Masjid Zainab, Near Traffic Police Chowki, Ph-I: 6:15AM (Qari Abdul Sattar)
  • Masjid Tooba, Korangi Road, Ph-I: 6:30AM (Mufti Ghufran Ul Haq)
  • Masjid Maryam, Mehran Town Korangi: 8:00AM

Eid ul Adha prayer timings for Lahore

The Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department has finalized arrangements for Eid prayers in Lahore. Major mosques and shrines within their control are planning that prayers take place between 5:30 AM and 8:30 AM.

  • Badshahi Mosque: 8:30AM (Maulana Abdul Razzaq Azad).
  • Jamia Makki Masjid Anarkali: 5:30AM (Maulana Abdul Jabbar).
  • Jamia Lal Masjid Mohini Road: 7:00AM (Maulana Asif Akbar)

Prayer timings for Peshawar

The schedule for Eid prayer timings in Peshawar has officially been released.

As per the schedule:

  • Markazi Eid Gah, Charsada Road: 06:30AM
  • Bagh Naran, Hayatabad: 06:30AM
  • Masjid Zargooni, Hayatabad: 06:00AM
  • Jamia Masjid Civil Colony, Kohat Road: 06:30AM

Prayer timings for Islamabad

The biggest gathering of Eid-ul-Azha prayer would be held on Sunday at Faisal Masjid, at 6:30 am, according to Dawah Academy of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).

Professor Dr Muhammad Ilyas would deliver an Eid sermon before leading prayer amid tight security.

Ministers, parliamentarians, foreign dignitaries, bureaucrats, businessmen and people from all walks of life across Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjoining areas would offer the prayer.

Prayer timings for Jammu & Kashmir

Due to on-going building work, Srinagar’s Eidgah prayer site will not be used on Eid this year, the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf board has said.

However, the board has made alternative arrangements at other mosques and shrines across the region. Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, chairperson of the Waqf Board, confirmed that full preparations have been made to ensure safe and organised prayer gatherings.

As per notice about Eid Namaz timings in Jammu issued by Administrator and Executive Officer, J&K Waqf Board, Jammu Abid Hussain, at Markazi Eidgah Residency Road, the prayers will be offered at 7.30 am.

Same time, prayers will be offered at Eidgah, Sidhra; Eidgah Firdousabad Sunjwan; Eidgah Janipur; Jamia Masjid Lakhdatta Bazar and Jamia Masjid Kunjwani.

Across all regions, the authorities have urged citizens to arrive early, follow local guidelines, and cooperate with security and health officials.
