59% of Punjabis are happy with CM Maryam Nawaz: survey

A total of 59 per cent of residents living in Punjab are happy with the province’s Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz’s performance, according to the survey by the Institute for Public Opinion Research.

16 per cent people showed dissatisfaction while the remaining 24 per cent said her performance is acceptable.

The survey included 6000 people from 36 districts of Punjab.

According to the survey, 57 per cent of Punjabis think that CM Maryam Nawaz successfully addressed the key issues of the public while the remaining 36 per cent of residents think the opposite.

In addition, 62 percent of the citizens appreciated the Punjab government’s efforts in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and law and order.

But a large number of 63 per cent of the citizens complained about the lack of employment in the province.

Moreover, half of the province believes that the government under Maryam Nawaz has improved compared to last year.

Maryam Nawaz, the first female CM of Punjab

Maryam Nawaz took oath as CM of Punjab in February 2024, making her the first woman to hold this position.

She became a member of the provincial assembly by winning the Feb 8 general elections from constituency 159 Lahore-XV. She also won from NA-119 and later withdrew from the National Assembly seat in order to become the CM.
