WEBDESK: Security forces killed five militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna al Khwarij in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between June 15 and 16, according to ISPR.

The first operation took place in Peshawar district, following credible intelligence about the presence of Indian-sponsored fighters in the area.

During the operation, troops managed to encircle the hideout and engage the militants in a fierce gun battle.

Four militants, including Kharji Haris and Kharji Baseer, were killed in the exchange.

In a separate action in North Waziristan, one more militant was shot dead in another intelligence-led encounter.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the killed militants, who, according to officials, were involved in multiple acts of terrorism in the region.

Search operations are ongoing to clear the area of any remaining threats. The military reaffirmed its resolve to eliminate what it called “Indian-sponsored terrorism” from the country.
